on stfdc, i ended the album with an ode to Driver. i knew on wtytt i wanted an appearance from the grandmaster. i had a couple of bonus days in LA after concluding a west coast tour and was holed up in kenny's studio as i am want to do when in califas. Driver came thru, heard this beat, and started freestyling. ken turned the mic on and what you hear is what we heard, totally spontaneous and free, from my og. i had about a half verse written and quickly finished it listening to regan put effects on his performance. this joint became the subtle nod. the decoder ring, the grip, the token, the talisman. what is bestowed upon completion of initiation.
